Supporting Small British Businesses

Most people I speak to and see in my business want to see small independant businesses within their community, they want to be able to get different things and to have a chat and build a relationship with these small businesses. Whether its products or services.

The problem is at Christmas the larger shopping centres and online businesses are calling with their huge marketing budgets and glitz and glamour. We've become hugely reliant on one-click shopping from our sofas, which is great and has its place but to keep our towns and small high streets alive we need to support them and the small businesses whose products that they stock.

You really are making a huge difference to peoples lives when you shop or support local businesses.

- You are supporting people with paying their bills.

- You are supporting people who are going to pay for their childrens gymnastics classes.

- You are supporting people who employ other local people in your town.

- You are supporting the people who just want to be able to afford their children's Christmas presents this year.

Isn't this so much better than helping the CEO / Owner to buy a new yacht, helicopter, golf course, or hotel??

Here at Tranquility Lash & Beauty I try to support British businesses, whether that is for products I use for the treatments I offer, or the products I retail in my salon, online shop and at local craft fairs. Obviously there are some products I stock that are from larger brands that are not made in the UK but a large proportion are.

Here are some of my favourites;

Charlie Locks Professional Skincare System TM.

Professional Home Skincare Products that are completely organic and natural. Based in Winchester and a business run by a husband and wife team producing small batches of amazing value, affordable skincare.

I have selected to use their products in salon and to stock Retail items from Charlie Locks Professional Skincare System TM. Essential oils are at the heart of the products. They are Nature’s active ingredients which each serve a variety of both contrasting and complementary purposes. The products contain globally sourced natural ingredients, and tested to strict industry and EU guidelines. Charlie Locks products are sls and paraben free and our natural and organic ingredients are non-animal derived apart from our moisture cream and complex which contain beeswax sourced from ethically sustainable hives.

Ask me about these products next time you are in salon or check my online shop.

Betty Hula is a new brand I have recently discovered and now stock.

At Betty Hula they believe in honest, natural skincare. All of their products have been carefully handmade in the UK using traditional techniques and the finest quality, natural ingredients that are vegan friendly, laced with a selection of delicious and exotic Hawaiian inspired scents. All full of luscious natural, vegan ingredients.

The handcreams are also packaged in eco friendly sugarcane tubes. The handcreams are anti-bacterial as well as well as a gorgeous nourishing, moisturising cream.

I stock the trio pack handcreams which would make a lovely gift, try some next time you are in salon. I also stock the Betty Hula Secret Wonder Oil Face Mask and Himalayan Salt Bath Tea Bags. The Secret Wonder Oil contains a rehydrating blend of Frankincense Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Rose Absolute.

Pillowsprays is another new small British company I discovered recently.

Pillowsprays is a coming together of Psychology and Aromatherapy. The company was started by Steven Crumblehulme who is based in the Cotswolds. With a belief that a sound sleep is the foundation of a healthy body and mind, Pillowsprays was set up to bring high quality natural sleep aids to the market.

Their mission is providing a high quality product in an ethical way. Pillowsprays use premium essential oils that are organic, vegan and cruelty-free. Their pillow sprays contain no artificial perfumes and are 'clean-fragrance'. All of our pillow sprays are in a generous 100ml bottle. Can also be used as a room spray.

The products contain no Artificial perfumes, Parabens, Sulphates, artificial colours.

I stock two differentscent Pillowsprays; Lavender and Rose Geranium and Bergamot and Frankincense. Testers are available in the salon.

Orli Massage Candles are made in Scotland and are an award winning product.

I love these candles and now incorporate them in my Reflexology and Indian Head Massage treatments, adding that little extra luxurious warm feeling.

Made with a blend of superior skin nourishing ingredients such as Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and, Vitamin E. Vitamin E hinders the oxidizing process which ages skin. It also promotes soft and supple skin, is helpful in reducing scars and facilitates healing from eczema or psoriasis. Made from a superior range of natural oils and butters, our massage candles glide onto the skin like warm sumptuous silk.

These can also be used as a bath oil, body moisturiser as well as for massaging. I stock numerous scents so please ask me if you are interested in these.

There are many more products I stock but this is a little flavour of my favourites.

If you want to know more, please ask me.
