Fabulous Dermaplaning Facials Now Available at the Tranquility Room MK!

I’m so excited to share with you that last week I completed my training in Dermaplaning training and I am really looking forward doing this treatment at the Tranquility Room MK.

What is a Dermaplaning facial?

Dermaplaning is a deep exfoliation of the skin using a sterile blade at a 45 degree angle that is lightly brushed across the skin.

It removes dead skin cells and the fine vellus hair (peach fuzz).

Dermaplaning is not used on the thicker eyebrow hair or beards.

Treatment steps;

Standard dermaplaning treatment £35

Your skin will be cleansed, toned, dermaplaning completed then luxury serum/moisturiser applied.

Dermaplaning Treat £45 Your skin will be cleansed, toned, dermaplaning completed, a sheet face mask placed on your face then to finish luxury serum/moisturiser applied.

Luxury dermaplaning treatment £65

Your skin will be cleansed, toned, dermaplaning completed, a luxury cream face mask applied, whilst the face mask is on, your scalp will be massaged then the serum/moisturiser applied.

What are the benefits of a dermaplaning facial? Why should I have one?

It is a simple and safe deep exfoliation process.

Skin feels smoother and more radiant.

Deeper product penetration which helps boost the effect of your face products.

Flawless makeup application.

Reduces the appearance of acne scars and fine lines.

Works on all skin types (except those with an active acne breakout or males with heavy facial hair).

You get instant results with no downtime.

Pregnant (2nd & 3rd trimester) & Nursing mothers can have the treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will the hair on my face grow back darker and thicker?

A. No, because dermaplaning only removes vellus hair (peach fuzz) the hair will grow back the same size and colour.

Physiologically this cannot happen so please don’t worry about this.

Q. How often should you have this treatment done?

A. Every 4-6 weeks is the recommend time between treatments. The skin needs time to go through its rejuvenation cycle.

Q. Is it safe?

This treatment is extremely safe when performed by an properly trained professional. There is no more risk to the skin than when you shave your legs. There is also no downtime with this procedure.

Q. Does it hurt? Will it cause cuts?

A. Dermaplaning is performed by using a gentle scraping motion across the surface of the skin. With other hair removal methods like waxing and threading these can be painful but Dermaplaning is entirely painless.

There are risks of cuts on the skin, however they are small and very minor as the pressure used for Dermaplaning cannot cause a deep cut.

In the unlikely event you do get a small nic or scrape it should heal within 24-48 hours.

Aftercare:

Use your skincare products twice daily.

Keep your skin well moisturised to prevent dryness.

Use a broad spectrum SPF on your face, minimum SPF 30, preferably higher.

Avoid exposure to the sun for a minimum of 3 days.

Avoid excessive heat for 3 days post treatment. No steam rooms, saunas etc.

Avoid chlorine for 24 hours.

Avoid facial waxing for 7 days.

Do not scratch pick or rub your face.

Avoid dermal fillers or Botox for 2-4 weeks based on the area.

No aggressive scrubs or brushes to be used on the area for 7-14 days.

You may experience a slight ‘windburn’ sensation or slight blotchiness for the first few days this is normal.

Slight peeling is also normal.

Do apply serums as their effectiveness will be heightened post treatment.
